ABOUT ESPRESSO TV
The company started in
1992, producing a pilot youth programme for BBC2, and went on to develop further
projects with TVS and the BBC. In 1994 Espresso produced an historic aviation
documentary series in association with the IWM, which has aired on PBS, BBC and
specialist documentary satellite / cable channels. Espresso then diversified
into home video publishing, having a Top Ten sports title in the UK In 1995 Espresso was involved in the setting up of a sports programming service distributed by satellite for Latin American clients. The service was up and running within three months, and for a period of two and half years delivered a half-hour sports news and two hours of sports programming service every day in three languages to over 20 channels in Latin and Hispanic North America.
Since 1999 Espresso has concentrated on developing its distribution arm, focusing on the documentary and factual entertainment international market. The aim has been to both increase the revenue potential of UK and international producers through the best means of exploiting their content as well as bringing a flavour of quality documentaries from the international market to the UK. Espresso is also active in pre-sale and co-production opportunities on new projects
DISTRIBUTION & CO-PRODUCTION
We attend all the major TV markets as well as the more specialised documentary TV markets including: NATPE, REAL SCREEN SUMMIT, BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL, MIPDOC, MIPTV, SUNNYSIDE OF THE DOC, DISCOP and MIPCOM.
We also attend festivals, congresses and co-production forums such as HOTDOCS, SHEFFIELD DOC FESTIVAL, SEE FESTIVAL, HISTORY CONGRESS, SCIENCE & FACTUAL CONGRESS and the IDFA. However our main work is continually developing relationships with broadcasters, channel operators, DVD & educational distributors, VOD and mobile operators throughout the year.
We are keen to acquire new high quality factual entertainment series and documentary programming, preferring to select titles that fits our profile, and in that way we provide a concise personal service.
Our growing catalogue of programming covers arts & culture, current affairs, educational, environment, health, history, lifestyle, music, nature, religion, science, social, sport, travel and wildlife subject areas. The catalogue represents programmes and projects from UK, European and International producers.
